Proper Golf Swing Setup and Alignment

Posted by Todd Mann | 10/17/2009

Learning the correct golf setup and alignment is the most important thing a student must learn before ever expecting to hit straight, long and consistent golf shots. All golf swings start with a solid setup, first starting with a proper grip on the club. The remaining elements of the setup are posture, stance, ball position and body alignment.

  • Grip - The Grip is the only connection to the golf club and must be correct to expect good results
  • Posture - Proper Spine Angles are a must to make solid contact
  • Alignment - Avoid common swing flaws by learning to properly align the body to the target
  • Ball Position - Consistent contact can't occur unless the ball is positioned correctly in the stance
  • Stance - All swings need a solid foundation
