When to Hit the Ball Low

Posted by Todd Mann | 10/18/2009

Hitting the golf ball low on command is a necessary skill to be able to tackle the many shots that are needed to play golf in a variety of course conditions and situations.

Being able to hit the ball lower than normal has a number of benefits.

  1. Hitting underneath obstacles such as low hanging tree branches
  2. Playing in windy conditions; A low ball flight will help take command and lessen the effects
  3. Control; A lower ball flight is desired when more control is needed
